BECOME A CAMPER AGAIN- VOLUNTEER!

WoW Day Camp operates 100% by volunteers. Volunteering at camp will make a great number of girls- including your own, very happy!

Having two volunteers commit to the week of camp, we can allow 12-16 campers into camp! Without enough volunteers, we have to make a waitlist for campers; someting we try to avoid every year.

And here's the thing- you don't have to be a mother of a girl scout to volunteer! Dads, siblings older than 18, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, you name it!

Volunteering is a rewarding, fun-filled experience. We find that once a volunteer comes to camp once, they always come back!

Full Time volunteers (those who commit to all five days of camp) ensure their child(ren) (and their buddy) a spot at camp.

If you register as a full time volunteer during our Early Bird registration period, you will receive $20 off each camper's registration fee.

Who Can Volunteer?

  • Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and be a registered Girl Scout for the current membership year. You may add on the $25 membership fee to your registration, or submit your GSUSA membership directly with the Girl Scouts.

  • Volunteers must submit a day camp registration (follow the registration links).

  • Volunteers must pass a background check through the Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington. Each background check is good for three years.

We understand that not everyone can commit to the full week of camp. We highly suggest that volunteers come for the entire week of camp. However, if you cannot commit to the entire week, we still want you to volunteer! We ask part-time volunteers come to camp M/W/F or T/Th. It can be hard to accommodate one day volunteers, but please let us know if you still want to volunteer if the other options do not work for you.

Volunteer Requirements

All adult volunteers must:

  • Be a registered Girl Scout member for the 2023-2024 membership year

  • Complete a background check (link will be sent once you register as a Girl Scout member)

  • Complete GSOSW Foundations and GSOSW Mandatory Reporter trainings online

I want to volunteer but I have a younger child, can they come to camp?

Most likely! We have a "Widget" unit for the children of camp volunteers.

Widgets are potty-trained, girls ages 3-4 and boys up to about 3rd grade.
Widgets have their own unit leaders and participate in a variety of age appropriate activities.

Widgets may only come to camp the days that the parent volunteers.

Please submit a registration and fee for each Widget you are bringing to camp.
